A New Beginning

yarn

The parcel I have been waiting for since last December finally arrived !  It is the three balls of yarn I have been wanting for a long time, and I am so excited as I  got to hold them in my hands.   As an avid knitter, I love the feel and the smell of new yarn and visions of what I can make dance in my head, and I cannot wait to begin working with them!!

In a way, starting a new year is just like opening the parcel of new yarn, the possibilities, the challenges….they are endless.    And while I rip open the bag with the enthusiasm of a three-year old,  I am reminded of the attitude I need to have at the beginning of a brand new year.  Fittingly, the verse I came upon this morning says:

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah 43:19

God is about to do new things in my life, they might be things I am not expecting; or dreams finally fulfilled; prayers answered……… I am not quite sure what they are … but I know from experience that He is going to be there in every single  moment of my life. He is going to be in my laughter, my tears and my heart breaks.   Every single event and situation is His way of preparing and shaping me for the place He is going to bring me next.  He knows what I need most:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”  Jeremiah 29:11

  1. thanks for the post J ! your “Every single event and situation is His way of preparing and shaping me for the place He is going to bring me next. He knows what I need most” is exactly how I’m feeling…I can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2014.
