The Picture

Sometimes  a picture is worth a thousand words.  It can speak volumes to your soul and beyond; and I found just THE one.  It is a picture of dogs tracking through mud, and it teaches me the essence of spiritual leadership–

What do you see when you look at the picture?

What thoughts come to your mind as you see the pack leader panting laboriously and the other ones follow behind….

I see that leadership is not a stroll in the park, it is hard work;

It is taking people from the place they are to the place where God wants them to be, and you definitely need to know where you are going and willing to be there;

and at times you have to go through the mud and grime and get messy.

When you are strong and courageous, people will follow.

“The Lord gave this command to Joshua son of Nun: “Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the Israelites into the land I promised them on oath, and I myself will be with you.” Deuteronomy 31:23

  1. Paul said the Spirit of God displayed himself mightily in Paul, yet he also worked hard and long hours to further the gospel. The gifts of God are not an excuse for laziness.
