Life on the other side

I never appreciated the demands and struggles of a physically challenged person until last week.  The ordinary tasks of navigating through a busy airport, going through a mall;  finding one’s way to the washroom in a small restaurant were proven to be extremely difficult if you are not mobile.  And for so long I have taken these simple things for granted.

It is so easy to be an armchair critic and make assumptions and judgment based on impersonal perspective.  For that I have to confess my ignorance.   A person can be indifferent to the sufferings and hurts of others and fail to be moved by the plight.  For that I need to ask God to fill my heart with His love.

We are given so much, but our hearts can easily be filled with discontent.  We complain, moan and groan and cannot see the blessings in our life.   For that I need God’s forgiveness.

God has opened my eyes, and poke at my heart.   For that I am extremely grateful.

Thank you God for giving me a glimspe of life from the other side.
